Communicating with the Angels part 1

Angels We all have guidance counselors all around us. Most associate them with angels or spirit guides. But there are many groups who are assisting in taking us to different levels of consciousness. These could be angels, Devas, nature spirits or animals.

Consciousness takes life beyond "synchronicity", into an ever-evolving, ever blissful "reciprocity" with the universe. This is a natural turning point of grace that comes to the experienced soul, when he or she is ready to give everything up for a simple and free life. Angels are part of that life.

This is what we are here to accomplish in this lifetime. To experience. To elevate and make sacred this drive we have within to taste all of life, to experience fullness and richness in diversity. We do this in the most powerful way, by focusing our full intention and presence upon that which is so unlike us and separate from us. Then we are to take this to new areas and assist others to reach this.

An Angel is spiritual in nature yet capable of interacting on both the physical and spiritual realms, has some level of free will and some purpose to fulfill for their creator - a single, all-powerful Source.  Angel is ancient Greek for messenger. You connect with your angels through:

1.       feeling the power –empathetic

2.       hearing them – auditory

3.       knowing they are present- cognizance

4.       seeing them – visual

They will appear or connect with you in the manner in which you will accept them and the way you perceive them.

An Angel has been created to love, hold and support those to who it is assigned and those who ask for Angelic support. Angels are to be found in every corner of the Universe and in the millions! If you could see Angels with the naked eye, you would be amazed at just how populated the Earth and the Universe really is with them! Have you ever felt a breath of cool air brush along your cheek when alone somewhere? That might very well have been an Angel moving aside as you walked into an Angel conference, quite unaware!

Why are there angels? Simply because of Divine Universal love. Angels are those guys who hang out with us through thick and thin. They wait patiently by your side until you are ready to let them help. Or as the kids say they “hang wit you”. Angels are there all the time and yet only when you need them.

There are many books out there and differing opinions from religions about angels. Some will say you cannot communicate with your angels. From my personal experiences that is not true. Angels are all around us and communicate with us.

I started out 29 years ago in this holistic/esoteric profession through teaching about angels and miracles. It was before angels were even popular. Hence the name people called me which was/is “the angel rev”.

During the past decade, we've witnessed a tremendous resurgence of interest in angels. This interest seems new to many people who are discovering angels for the first time. However, our present attention is but the latest part of a long tradition that has sought to preserve a sacred mystery. Angels reveal the path to the Divine Source - back to the Divine you.

Angels appear to us with many forms and shapes. Many times, the qualities of an Angel are so delicate that they choose female forms or even masculine bodies with female face characteristics. An Angel will appear to us with the form that is best for us. They are usually portrayed as having a human form, being dressed in long, white clothes, surrounded by a bright light and long, swan like wings. They were portrayed by artists, often on Church command, to alert the faithful that angels are more than human.

Many people think that the Angels are a Christian belief. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Angels are a gift given to us by the Goddess and the God for us to use in our daily lives. Not just only for those of a certain religion.

Now, you will ask why God/Goddess? Is God a female or male? God is neither and both at the same time. What is referred to us as God is just the Supreme Source of the whole Existence, a Spirit of such a magnitude, so inconceivable, that it has no sex and could be both at the same time if it chooses too.  It is energy not a physical form. So, the reference to God/Goddess is just to emphasize that however you choose to call upon him/her/it is of no importance. It is more about connection.

In the early stages of mankind, the belief in spirits was universal. The primitive man believed that there were no good or bad spirits. A spirit simply had powers, called “manna”, with which it could do either good or evil.

Supernatural winged creatures have been found in the ancient Mesopotamia and Sumeria. The Assyrians had their "kabiru" (the source of the word cherubim), winged beasts possessing features both animal and human.

The role of the angel as protector can perhaps be traced to these ancestors, which acted as guards in Babylon and Sumeria. The Greeks had "Hermes", the winged messenger. Hermes is often credited as being the source of the Archangel Michael. The Greeks also had "daimones", spirits who came in both good and evil forms, the good ones being protectors. Diamones evolved into "demons" in Christianity, and in the process lost their good natured brothers.

The Aryans who came to India and Persia around 2500 B.C. believed in "Devas" or "shining ones". Perhaps it was from this that the angels inherited their characteristics- the ability to shine, or radiate light. The "el" suffix so common in many of the angels' names is understood in several languages to mean "shining" or "radiant." The shining ones became part of Ireland’s lore.

Devas made their way into the Veda which is a collection of early sacred Hindu writings. They were closely aligned with the elements of nature, earth, air, fire, and water. Devas also found their way into Zoroastrianism. It was through this religion that Devas truly evolved into angels. They represented the concepts of wisdom, truth, immortality, deserved good luck, salvation and obedience. Each angel acted as the guardian of something- fire, for example.

Zoroaster’s brand of angels took hold and was handed down to Judaism, Christianity and finally Islam. Islam's "malaika" (again, "messengers") are androgynous beings made of light who act as guardians of humans. This is the closest description to what the angels truly are.

In many religions such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam, it is believed that between God and mankind there are intermediary beings, called angels. Angels are spirits without bodies, who possess superior intelligence, gigantic strength and surpassing holiness and are commonly thought of as the messengers of God.

With the emerging of Christianity and other major religions, the belief in these spirits was condemned and they became demons. One of the most famous faiths in their belief in angels is Judaism.  The Jewish angels are awesome and yet sometimes even terrifying to behold - and devoted utterly to God.  The duties of Angels are split in two different tasks: Praising God and executing His commands. According to Jewish belief there are 674,000 angels who daily praise the name of God.

Angels play an important role in the scriptures of Judaism.  Their angels are responsible for many of the famous occurrences of the Hebrew history, from the driving of Adam and Eve from Paradise to the Destruction of the Tower of Babel.  The Jewish angel is not only a messenger, as the angel Gabriel was to Noah, but also the 'hands of God'.  Angels carried out the many judgments of God, both positive and deadly.

Old Testament In the Old Testament angels play a prominent role as the messengers from God and this is where the leading demon, Satan, is introduced. (It was not until the New Testament that Satan was portrayed as Lucifer) In the O.T. there were only two orders of angels: the Seraphim and Cherubim and they were more than just messengers as they are portrayed as the agents of God in bringing judgment to the world.

Paul extended the number of angels in the New Testament by adding seven new orders. They are, arranged according to their importance: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominations, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archangels and Angels. In Islam, it is believed that there are four Archangels who guard the throne of Allah.

The angels have names and roles that they play. This may not have been their name at the beginning just as our name is not what we had at the beginning. But the role they play, what they created was in existence just as ours was. The angel’s mission with us as part of the team is to create a "blueprint" for the future populating of the galaxy. This in turn will create a "golden galaxy", which in turn will balance our galaxy.

Regardless of how we wish to try to communicate with angels, or what role we believe they play in our lives, it's important to keep in mind that the ultimate purpose of them is working with us. There are Angels for just about every function you can think of, and many more! Just as you will find many gods/goddesses thoughout history in many cultures. There is no limit to how many Angels you can have in your life and there is no limit to what you may ask for!

You can ask the Angels to assist you with any project, problem or issue you may have. You may call upon Angels whenever you wish to and for whatever purpose provided that the purpose is not intended to hurt or injure anyone or the Earth itself.

Archangels are able to be in many places at one time. You never have to feel that your "problem" isn't important enough to bother them with. That is what they're there for, to help you grow. There are Angels to fill your home with love, ask them to watch over your children at school, ask them to travel with you on long journeys, ask them to sponsor you when you are trying to stop smoking or are trying to lose weight and get healthier.

Ask an Angel to take care of your computer or to assist you in resolving an argument with a friend or relative. There is no limit to what you may ask an Angel to do. But remember the important rule: you can ask them to ASSIST you but they cannot do it for you.No one can truly do it expect for you. But a support team is always a good thing!

By simply getting used to blessing all that you experience and through asking Angels to be present and assist you everywhere on your life, you will begin to embody Angelic qualities in your life. You will be more open to the love and abundance of the Universe. You will begin to experience more joy, health and laughter as you sense the wings of Angels as they fly around every aspect of your life.

How do you connect to your angel? Who is your guardian angel?
